Quitaque, Texas—Susan Young, 51, died Monday, December 23, 2013 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas with a memorial service to follow at the Church of Christ in Turkey, Texas at 2:00 pm with Mr. Stewart Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Susan was born May 1, 1962 in Pampa to Jim and Betty Hess. She grew up and attended schools in Borger. She graduated from Lubbock Christian University. She married Guy Wayne Young on April 26, 1989 in Amarillo. She was a Texas Bank Examiner until they moved to Quitaque in 1990. She worked in the office of Bill Smith, Attorney-at-Law until Mr. Smith became Judge Bill Smith and she was his court coordinator. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Turkey.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Betty Hess.

Her family includes her husband: Guy Young of Quitaque, her daughter: Lauren Young of Quitaque, her father: Jim Hess of Borger, her brother: David Hess of Arkansas, two nieces: Rebecca Hess of Arkansas and Samantha Hess of San Antonio and her Parents-in-Law: Don and Gaye Young of Tulia.
