Zena Christine McAfee, 89, went to be with her Lord on December 16, 2012 in Andrews, Texas.
Christine was born December 24, 1922 to Sanford and Ludie McElroy. She moved to Andrews, TX with her family in 1940 where she met and fell in love with Roy Lee McAfee. The couple was married on February 15, 1941. She was a member of 1st Assembly of God Church in Andrews where she taught Sunday School for many years. She went to work for Andrews ISD in 1966 in the school cafeteria and retired 22 years later in 1988. Christine and Roy Lee ʼs marriage was based on a deep and unwavering love. When their home began to fill with children, they raised them with a love for each other and for God. This love has been passed down for 5 generations. She was a great example of the Proverbs 31 woman and her children truly rise up and call her blessed. We rejoice that she is no longer in pain, yet grieve for the hole her absence has left in our hearts as we look forward to the day when we will see her again.
Christine is preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Lee and by her beloved son Albert Wayne.
She is survived by 1 sister: Joyce Lorraine McAfee of Odessa Tx; 3 children: Patsy Joyce Eaves (Willie) of Midland TX, Lonnie Truman McAfee (ElWanda) of Wylie TX, Archie Earl McAfee (Sharon) of Austin TX; 8 grandchildren: Pamela Swierc (Matt) of Midland TX, Rebecca Wohl (Mark) of Tulsa OK, Darlene Rotan (Derek) of Midland TX, Clark McAfee (Carmen) of Heartland TX, Dana Todd of Blossom TX, Donnie McAfee (Julie) of Ballinger TX, Kelli Morse (Steven) of Aubrey TX, Lindsey McAfee of Houston TX; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
