Funeral services for Vestie Ann Oliver, age 83 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Boyer Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Vance Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Oliver was born December 15, 1939 in Tahoka, Texas to Laura (West) and Bertie Lee Stice. She married Farland Oliver in Tahoka on January 1, 1960 and was a member of Avenue B Church of Christ. She had been a Seminole resident for 58 years and worked for Seminole ISD in the cafeteria for 15 years. Vestie had always loved to cook for her family; she enjoyed gardening and loved canning her vegetables and fruits. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother whose favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
Vestie Oliver passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Farland in 1999; one grandson, Farland Lee Bowen; and one brother. She is survived by one daughter, LaFonda Bowen and husband Brad of Seminole; one brother, Kennith Stice and wife Peggy of Wolfforth, Texas; and three grandchildren, Bradley Bowen, Sunny Coon, and Stormy Coon.
The family would especially like to thank the staff of BeeHive Homes of Andrews for the excellent care they gave Vestie over the past 15 months.
