Patsy ‘Vonnell" Peek, 82, of Andrews passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Hamilton House in Lubbock, Texas.
Mrs. Peek was born July 15, 1930 in Rule, Texas to John Ernest and Mary Jewell Rogers.
She married Charley Clay Peek June 1, 1951 in Artesia, NM. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Vonnell owned and operated "The Upholstery Shop" in Andrews for 20 years. She and Mr. Peek moved to Louisiana and she worked for Ray Gross Motors for 5 years. Then after moving back to West Texas she went to work for Bill Stoddard Volkswagen until 1984. later that same year she went to work at Mike McGarrity Chevrolet in Andrews and served there until her health forced her retirement in 2009.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge since 1965 and she was recognized with "Star Recorder" award from by Moose Lodge. Vonnell loved to sew and she made her daughters clothes for years as they were growing up. She also loved to take trips to Las Vegas and also play Skip-Bo with her friends. She was a great cook and was a true master of "Home Cooking". Vonnell was a member of the First Christian Church in Andrews.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Vonita Elkins and her husband Zack of Lubbock; Vona Claylene Palmer and her husband Wayne of Odessa; sister, Anna Loucetia of Ogallala, Nebraska; Three Grandchildren; Paul Wayne Palmer, Jr.; Nicki Palmer; Zane Elkins and two Great Grandchildren, Carson James Palmer and Olivia Nicole Casas.
