*Obituary
"Pope, a native of Kerens, was killed in a wildcat rig accident Sunday night near Wagon Mound, N.M. He moved to Artesia a year ago from Kermit where he had lived for 14 years.
"Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Mae; a son, R. M. Pope, Andrews; two daughters, Mrs. D. C. Chestnut, Seminole, and Mrs. Lonnie Steed, Arbuckle, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. S. D. McKee and Mrs. J. W. Smith, both of Midland, and Mrs. E. A. Freeman, San Angelo; five brothers, W. O., Fort Worth, George, Lamesa, Julian, Coleman, Morris, Santa Monica, Calif., and C. A. Pope, Andrews; and five grandchildren."
