Frances "Billie" Valentine, 71, of Waco passed away Tuesday evening, May 5, 2009. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel, with the Rev. Daniel Daywitt officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Frances was born in Downsville, Texas, to the late Samuel and Mary Alice (Fuller) King, and was a graduate of Lorena High School. She married Ray Valentine who preceded her in death. For many years, she was a nurse's aid with various nursing homes in the Waco area. In more recent years, she was employed as a custodian with TSTC prior to her 1992 retirement.
Preceding her in death was a son, David Ray Valentine; a grandson, Jimmy Michael Hutchison; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul King, J.T. King, Woodrow King; and a sister, Delores Trout.
Survivors include daughters, Brenda Marmino and husband, Ron, Barbara Ladd and husband, Charles, all of Waco; grandchildren, Misha Engelke and husband, Justin, Steve Hutchison and wife, Sandy, Stacy Roof and E.J., Chris Marmino, Jason Marmino, Jeremy Marmino, Jesse Marmino, Crystal Marmino, Melissa Marmino, Brandon Ladd, Justin Ladd, Stella Ladd; brothers, Gene King and wife, Syvilla, of Waco, Howard King and wife, Stella, of Tennessee; sister, Mary Lee Lathern and husband, Cecil, of Waco; and the love of her life, Travis Roe, Sr; as well as the entire Roe family.
