Irving - Roland R. Tilly, 81, of Irving, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Baylor Medical Center in Irving.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Faith Temple Baptist Church in Irving with the Rev. Lewis Pollard officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Andrews County Cemetery in Andrews. Arrangements are by Donnelly's Funeral Home of Irving.

He was born in Hasse and was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church.

Survivors Wife, Merle Tilly; son, John R. Tilly of Irving; brother, Rex G. Tilly; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Merle Tilly age 87, a resident of Irving since 2004, formerly of Andrews for 32 years and Zephyr for 24 years, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Elmcroft Assisted Living Center in Irving.

Born May 17, 1925 in DeLeon, Texas, she was the daughter of Sam and Leila Norton Bond. A homemaker, she married Roland R. Tilly April 19, 1946 in DeLeon, Texas. She was a member of the Faith Temple Baptist Church, now Western Heritage Church in Irving, Bethel Baptist Church in Zephyr and First Baptist Church in Andrews.

Preceded in death by a son David in 1958, a son Mark in 1959, and by her husband in 2006, she is survived by a son, John Tilly and his wife Wanda J. Wintin of Irving; a sister Kathryn Young of Weatherford, former long-time Abilene resident; three grandchildren Heather and husband Thomas Ledbetter, Daniel and wife Angela Tilly, and Kaitlyn Tilly and fiance Cameron Hammon; and five great grandchildren Elise Ledbetter, Emmy Ledbetter, Mason Tilly, Reed Tilly, and Jared Tilly. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Old Andrews Cemetery in Andrews, Texas. A proud member of the Greatest Generation, she thrived through the Great Depression, the Second World War and 61 years of marriage. May light perpetual shine upon her.
