Jackie Leon Williams, Sr., 74 of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas.
Jackie was born October 1, 1935 in Andrews, in a house on Northwest Ave D. He married Wanda Ruth Abney on February 25, 1955 in Andrews.
As a kid, Jackie worked on wind mills with his father. He later went to work on building roads and working in the oil fields in West Texas. He loved to work on washing machines and clothes dryers among other things. His favorite thing to do was spoil his grandchildren and he did that well.
He had dogs named Dallas and C.D. and loved them very much.
He was a member of McKinney Acres Baptist Church in Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Vesta Williams; son, Alvin Wayne Wright; daughter, Connie Ruth Williams; Brother, Richard Williams; and sister, Virginia Hogg.
He was survived by his wife, Wanda Ruth Williams of Andrews; Son, Jackie Leon Williams, Jr. of Odessa; daughter, Jacqueline Williams of Andrews; brother, Max Williams of San Antonio; sisters, Mona Wilson of Midland, Shirley Clutter of Midland and Billie Sue Rodgers of Idaho; grandchildren, Masumi Pritchard of Andrews and Amethyst Williams of Odessa; great-grandson Maddux Foster of Andrews.

Wanda Ruth Abney Williams, 79, of Andrews passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Rick Doyle of Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Please celebrate her life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.
Wanda was born on September 25, 1937 in Foreman, Arkansas to Allen Otto Abney and Constance Connie Dale Dollarhide Abney.
She was raised in Arkansas and moved to Andrews, where she graduated from Andrews High School in 1954. While in high school, she was very talented in playing basketball.
She married Jackie Leon Williams, Sr. on February 25, 1955 in Andrews.
She had worked in Andrews for Buddys Drive In for 28 years and Grumpys Barbeque as a cook. She loved all types of sports, but especially basketball.
She was the type of mom that went to all her children and grandchildrens sports, games, and practices. She loved to do yard work, was a faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys, bowled locally and in tournaments from 1961 " 1981, and was Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband on August 25, 2010, 2 children, Connie Ruth Williams and Alvin Wayne Williams, and 2 sisters, Eileen Duley and Mary Louis Lawrence, and 2 brothers, Thomas Ray Abney and Roy Wayne Abney.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Williams of Andrews, son, Jackie Williams, Jr. and wife, Sonia, of Odessa, 4 sisters, Yvonne Simmons of Andrews, Cherry Abney of Beaumont, Linda Bagley of Andrews, and Margey Ysasi of Andrews, 2 brothers, James Abney and wife, Linda, of Robert Lee and Glen Abney and wife, Robyn, of Andrews, 2 grandchildren, Masumi Pritchard and husband, Seth, of Andrews and Amethyst Williams of Odessa, and 2 great grandchildren, Maddux Foster and John Pritchard of Andrews.
