Graveside services for Rilla Meeks Brooks, 64, of Odessa will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 2, 2006 in the Andrews West Cemetery with Rev. Clydel Chapman, Pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Odessa, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. She passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at her residence in Odessa.

She was born on May 2, 1942 in Fort Madison, Iowa to Bennie Lee Meeks and Audie Hazel McCoy Meeks. She had lived in Odessa since 1953. She graduated from Permian High School in 1960, which was the first class to graduate from Permian. She worked as a bookkeeper for Tommy's Jewelry Store in Odessa for 10 years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi in Odessa. She married Walter Brooks on January 1, 1990 in Odessa. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Odessa. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband: Walter Brooks of Odessa; 2 sons: Darren Hightower of Odessa and Mark Brooks and wife Vicki of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 1 daughter: Tammy Allison of Odessa; 1 brother: Jim Meeks of Houston; and 1 grandson: Justin Brooks of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Memorials may be sent to Odyssey Hospice or Su Casa Home Health in Odessa.
