Andrews Joyce Gunn, 80, of Andrews, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Home Hospice House in Odessa.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at McNett Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Andrews West Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Joyce was born June 24, 1926, at Gonzales, Texas. She moved to Andrews in 1974. Joyce spent many years serving in both the Permian Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in Andrews and the Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. Her specialty was making tray favors for the patients.

Joyce took great care in making sure patients had something on their tray to cheer them up.

She also served on the State Board as chairman of many committees from 1994 through 2005. She devoted much of her time and love towards the Auxiliary women, making friends from all over the state.

She and her husband Buster loved country and western dancing, and traveling to various little towns for just that purpose. They also traveled extensively after they retired and really loved taking Dan Dipert bus tours around the country. They also traveled to Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia.

She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and was the charter Queen Mother of the "Red Hatters" in Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Gunn in 2006 and five sisters, one brother and her parents.

She is survived by three daughters: Peggy Chew of San Antonio, and Diann Perkins and Della Weaver, both of Odessa; one brother: Walter Thoms of Taylor, Texas; and one grandson: Joseph Weaver of Odessa.

Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer society or the Permian Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
