Rita Mae Hill, 93, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Ogbonna officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, September 2, 2019 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rita was born on December 5, 1925 in Rayne, Louisiana to Dewey and Lucille Mier Boudreaux.
She was raised in Rayne and graduated from Rayne High School. Rita married Lloyd R. Hill on December 4, 1943 in Rayne. She worked in the shipyards during WW II. They moved to Andrews in 1967. Rita enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and going to Church. She was a collector of many things; her passion was collecting dolls. She enjoyed art, and loved to be with her nieces and nephews, she enjoyed trips to visit them in Louisiana. Rita was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1986, two daughters, Susan Henderson and Christine Butler, a brother, Dudley Boudreaux, two sisters, Ednez Gilbert and Hazel Bruney.
She is survived by three sons, Albert Hill of Omaha, Nebraska, Curtis Hill and wife Isela of Andrews, Texas, Carl Hill and wife Debbie of Villa Ridge, Missouri, six daughters, Joan Gilchrest and husband Wayland of Artesia, New Mexico, Betty Hill of Odessa, Texas, Kay Middleton of Andrews, Texas, Kathy Morgan and husband Wesley of Andrews, Texas, Donna Hill of Nashville, Tennessee and Laura Hill of Arlington, Texas, one sister Willy VanCleeve of Brownwood, Texas, and a son-in-law, Ron Butler of Disney, Oklahoma, twenty four grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
