Funeral services for Helena Neudorf, age 81 of Shallowater, Texas and formerly of Seminole, Texas, will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Sommerfeld Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Isaak Fehr officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Neudorf was born June 19, 1941 in Durango, Mexico to Margaret (Thiessen) and Peter Knelsen. In 1962 Helena met George Neudorf after his brother introduced them. They were married in Durango, Mexico on August 26, 1962. She was a member of Sommerfeld Mennonite Church and a homemaker; during their 61 years of marriage she had nine children. Helena enjoyed spending time in the garden or planting her plants. She was a woman of great faith in God and enjoyed talking about His love and mercy. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Helena Neudorf passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Margaret Knelsen. She is survived by her husband, George Neudorf of Shallowater, Texas; three sons, Neil Neudorf of Shallowater, Texas, George Neudorf and wife Danielle of Shallowater, Texas, and Peter Neudorf and wife Stacy of Lubbock, Texas; six daughters, Margie Neufeld and husband David of Seminole, Texas, Helen Penner and husband Neil of Hobbs, New Mexico, Mary Jordan and husband Jesse of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Tina Halderman and husband Mark of Springdale, Arkansas, Annie Wall and husband Jake and Krissy Hester and husband Jason, both of Shallowater; six brothers, Pete Knelsen, Abram Knelsen and wife Nancy, Jake Knelsen and wife Tina, Wilhelm Knelsen and wife Susan, John Knelsen and wife Helen, and Aaron Knelsen and wife Katherine, all of Canada; and four sisters, Margaret Hiebert and Mary Thiessen, both of Seminole, Texas, Anna Andres and husband John of Mexico, and Katherine Hiebert of Canada; 32 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
