Yvonne "Nana" McDonald passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas with her family by her side.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at McNett Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2013 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Nana was born October 13, 1924 to Henry and Winnie Horner in Olden, Texas. She married Walter "Bub" McDonald July 18, 1942 in Phoenix, AZ. She lived in Kermit for many years where she was a charter member of the First Methodist Church and she owned a beauty shop for 25 years. She and Bub moved to Andrews from Belton, Texas in 2000. After moving to Andrews she was a member of City of Refuge Church and a volunteer with Home Hospice.
She loved arts and crafts, painting and playing the piano. She was a great cook and enjoyed helping people. Her family was her main hobby and she will always be remembered for asking, "What's for dinner?" and "Can I help you?"
She was preceded by her husband, of over 58 years, Walter "Bub" McDonald in 2001.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Awalt of Andrews, TX; son, Russell McDonald of Lindale, TX ; five grandchildren, Tammi Land and her husband, Doug, Teri Grinslade and her husband Jody, all of Andrews, TX, Tim Awalt and his wife, Shayla of Midland, TX, Barry McDonald and his wife, Kerri and Kim Terry and her husband, Joe Bob, all of Lindale, TX; eleven Great-Grandchildren, Ashley Land Sullivan and husband Kenneth; Rhea Grinslade Tidwell and husband Dusty; Austin Land; Parker Grinslade; Paige Grinslade; Allison Land, Aspen Awalt Taegan Terry; McCoy Terry; Russell McDonald and Stella McDonald; and two great-great- grandchildren, Gavin Lee Sullivan and Braylee Tidwell. And special cousin Patsy Seabolt of Lewisville, Texas.
