She was born September 25, 1956 in Brownfield, Texas, to Don and Doris Fleming of Loop, Texas. She passed away on February 10, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Claren was the middle child of four siblings.
She was a 1975 graduate of Seminole High School. Following her graduation, years later, she married Kenneth Patterson of Houston, Texas, the father of her children. She also worked for Lubbock ISD for several years as a paraproffesional. She was truly a gifted person when it came to taking care of the elderly and children with special needs. Always willing to help anyone who couldn't help themself. She loved her children unconditionally and family was everything to her.
