*Obituary Jonnie Jannette Liles Elliston
Jonnie Jannette Liles Elliston was born in Loop, Texas on January 9, 1939 to George Jewel Liles and Annie Bell Bingham Liles. She passed away in Pasadena, Texas on July 31, 2022 at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 22 days.

She graduated from Seagraves High School in 1956.

Jonnie married Bobby Elzy Elliston on December 23, 1955, and they were married for 59 years.

Jonnie's love and dedication to her family were boundless. She had the most unique ability of "knowingness" regarding her family. She spent her life trying to meet the needs and desires of all of her daughters, their children, and their children's children. To her, only the Lord meant more than her family. Jonnie said many times that she prayed for five daughters, and God answered her prayers. The Lord said, "multiply the earth"; Jonnie and Bob took this message to heart, as evidenced by their continually expanding family.

Jonnie is survived by her five daughters, Meloney Kim Clark and Terry Clark of Onalaska, Texas, Stacy Jan Elliston of Pasadena, Texas, Judy Elissa Jones and Paul Jones of Tomball, Texas, Bobbie Michelle Brock of Surprise, Arizona, and Deea Zoette Scully and John Scully of Roanoke, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Bobby Hendricks, Brandy Hendricks Qualls, Cody Clark, Keith Brown, Justin Waddell Johnson, Vanessa Waddell Tollette, Jana Jones Patrick, Chelsea Jones Earhart, Brandon Jones, Casey Brock, Kelsea Brock Keeney, Joshua Brock, Tyler Scully, Caleb Scully, and Canaan Scully; 28 great-grandkids and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her siblings, Josie Bridges and Jane "Nib" Halbrooks.

Jonnie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Bobby Elzy Elliston, her parents George Jewel Liles and Annie Bell Bingham Liles, and her siblings David Liles and Georgia Earl.

Jonnie and Bob joined First Baptist Church of South Houston in early 1959.

Jonnie loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian throughout her life. She loved going to church, and when she could no longer attend church services, she faithfully watched church services on television night and day. Jonnie knew everything about every evangelical television personality as if they were her closest friends; she loved her television church friends. Jonnie was dedicated to God's Word and studied the scriptures until the end of her life. She gladly shared her wealth of knowledge and wisdom of God's word with anyone who asked; she always had the perfect answer! Over the years, she filled countless spiral notebooks where she hand-copied sermon after sermon. Jonnie also had countless Bibles that she studied and filled the margins with notes and more notes; these Bibles are treasured by her daughters and granddaughters today. Jonnie's love for God was evident in countless ways and was apparent every day of her life. She was a true disciple and led many souls to eternal glory throughout her life.
