Marie McGregor Fanner, 81, of Big Spring, died on Monday, May 24, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. E. C. Wilson, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Dallas, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, May 28, 2004, at the funeral home.
She was born on April 11, 1923, in Falls County, Texas and married Leon McGregor on February 12, 1940 in Highbank, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Willie Stanford Fanner.Marie owned and operated a private home healthcare company and enjoyed watching wrestling on television. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Terry Sanders of Big Spring; four daughters, Mary B. Sanders and LaKisha Thompson both of Big Spring, Fernita Henry of Chandler, Arizona, and Stephanie Harris of San Angelo; six grandchildren, DayVion Young, Thomas Young, Terry Sanders, Jr. and John Paul Sanders all of Big Spring and Alexis and Malcolm Thompson of Sweetwater; several cousins and a host of friends.She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, LaKisha Moeshae Sanders. The family suggests memorials to Home Hospice, 600 Gregg Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
