Johnny "Popo" Flores, 87, of Big Spring passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center.

A vigil service will be at 7:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2106 at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born January 31, 1929 to Eulalia Jara Flores and Juan Montez Flores in Big Spring.

He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society.

He was a Crusitilla and did a great majority of the construction at Sacred Heart. He worked at Kasch Construction, Suggs Construction and Webb Air Force Base until it closed. He was then self-employed with Flores & Sons Construction doing concrete and masonary contracting.

Johnny is survived by three sons: Jimmy Flores and wife Olivia of Lubbock, Johnny Flores of Big Spring and Mike Flores of Big Spring; one daughter: Denita Samora and husband Robert of Odessa; one sister: Matilda Reyes of San Marcos; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife: Lidia Flores, he was preceded in death by one son: Paul Flores; one great grandson: Paul Lynn Gonzales; three sisters: Caroline Estrada, Mary Marin and Erlinda Lujan; two brothers: A.J. Mendez and Alfonso Mendez.
