Herminia G. Garcia, 84, of Big Spring, died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her residence. Rosary services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 26, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born November 14, 1932 in Rio Grande City, Texas and married Raul Garcia, Sr. December 1, 1956 in Starr County. He preceded her in death May 20, 2005.Hermina graduated from high school in Rio Grande City in 1954 and attended college in Kingsville, Texas were she studied to be a teacher. She came to Big Spring in 1957 and was a homemaker, loving mother and loved cooking for her family.
Survivors include five sons, Raul Garcia, Jr. and wife, Rosie, Ralph Garcia, Tony Garcia and wife, Anna, Canderlio Garica and Oscar Garcia and wife, Sandra all of Big Spring; six daughters, Mary Ramirez and husband, Tommy of Big Spring, Elisa Correa and husband, Auturo of Garden City, Nelda Katchmazenski of Midland, Minerva Medrano and husband, Victor of Midland, Sylvia Trevino of Big Spring and Diana Chavez of San Antonio; thirty one grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; a sister, Viola Valdes of Rio Grande City; and one brother, Antonio Gonzales of Edinberg.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Diana and Sylvia; one sister, Juanita Ramirez; and her parents, Isidoro and Leonor (Salinas) Gonzalez.
The family suggests memorials be made to Compass Hospice, 602 S. Main Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. Online condolences may be made at: www.npwelch.com ,
