Funeral mass for Rudy Jesse Garcia, 63, of Lamesa will be held on Thursday April 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Lamesa with Monsignor Jim O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Rosary will be said on Tuesday and Wednesday at Branon Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m.

Rudy passed away on Monday April 2, 2012 in Lamesa. He was born on September 27, 1948 in Pleasanton, Texas to Raymundo and Esther (Casanova) Garcia. He married Mary "Alice" Morales on August 30, 1969 in Lamesa. They were married for 42 years. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and also served in the National Guard. Rudy was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, special uncle, and mentor. He knew no strangers and was a wonderful friend to everyone that he met. He loved cooking, BBQing for family and friend gatherings. His favorite times were spent with family and friends. His dream was to take all of his grandchildren on a vacation, but unfortunately his illness prevented that.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Garcia of Lamesa; children, Ronnie Garcia and fiancé, Laura Mojica of Lamesa, Michael Garcia and wife, Erin of Lubbock, and Jamie Garcia of Lamesa; 1 sister, Janie Garcia of Odessa; 4 grandchildren, Madelyn Garcia of Lamesa, Caroline Garcia of Amarillo, Zack Mojica of Lamesa, and Matthew Mojica of Lamesa.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Raymundo and Esther Garcia.

The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society 3513 10th Street Lubbock, TX 79415.
