Catholic funeral graveside services for Dalia "Wella" M. Gonzales age 75 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Dawson County Cemetery with Father Rudolf Crasta officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Due to the area Covid-19 situations we continue with public safety. For the safety of the family and our community, face masks and social distancing are required at the funeral home and cemetery.

Visitation and viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer services starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation and viewing continues again on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Gonzales Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., following with a funeral procession to the cemetery.

Dalia passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in Lamesa, TX. She was born on November 13, 1945 in Bloomington, TX. Dalia married the love of her life, Emiliano Gonzales on May 23, 1966 in Lamesa, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalulpe and Celia Cortez; her grand-daughter, Angelica Villarreal; her brothers, Arturo Cortez, Jessie Cortez, Robert Cortez, Manuel Cortez, Alfredo Cortez, Ramiro Cortez; her sisters, Elida Guicoza, Olivia Rivera, Emma Diaz, Lydia Cortez, Lupe Cortez.

At a young age, Dalia was a seasonal worker with her parents and siblings, some places she traveled included, Texas, Kansas, and Arizona. After marrying Emiliano Gonzales, they settled down and raised their children in Lamesa, TX. Dalia, known to her family as "Wella", was a shinning light to everyone that knew her. Her compassion and understanding let you feel as if you've known her all of your life. She loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with them. Dalia was a devout Catholic and a member of her beloved church, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the church group Los Cursillistas. She was unshakeable in her faith, and passed that down to her children. Dalia was a passionate Quilter; she gave many blankets over the years to her family and those in the community. She was a loving mother and grandmother to everyone, including those she babysat, and the neighboring children. Dalia will truly be missed by all, but will always be remembered for her unconditional love, support, gentle hugs, and graceful smile. #LOVELIKEWELLA
Dalia is survived by her loving family, her husband, Emiliano Gonzales, Sr. of Lamesa, TX.; her two sons, Emiliano Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Joann Gonzales, and Martin Gonzales and wife, Isabel Gonzales, all of Lamesa, TX.; her three daughters, Leticia Villarreal and husband, David Villarreal, and Sally (Celia) Borrego and husband, Joe Olimpo Borrego, all of Midland, TX., and Frances Garcia and husband, Eric Garcia of Lamesa, TX.; her two brothers, Lee Cortez and wife, Elvia Cortez, and Rudolfo Cortez, all of Lamesa, TX.; her two sisters, Carolina Cortez, and Viola Cortez, both of Lamesa, TX.; 33 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
