Lamesa- Celebration of life for Mildred Audrena Goode, 98, of Lamesa will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Pastor Kalith Brown officiating. Private Graveside services will be held at Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Mildred passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Youngblood Elder Care in Lamesa, Texas. She was born August 5, 1919 in Lamesa, Texas to Oscar William and Mary (Gullatt) Lambert. She married A.C. Goode March 31, 1949 in Lovington, New Mexico. They were married 38 years until his passing on October 5, 1987. They moved from their farm in Welch to Lamesa in 1978 and became members of First Baptist Church.
She lived her entire life in Dawson County and attended both Woody and Munger schools. She also volunteered with the Pink Ladies at Medical Arts Hospital as well as being very active at the Welch Baptist Church.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Poe Leiker and husband, Mel of San Antonio, and Mary Ellen Moilan and husband, Don of Grapevine; sons, Corkey Goode of Levelland, and Nicky Goode and wife, Marla of Welch; sisters, Bobbie Jeter of Ruidoso, N.M., and Jackie Pipkin of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William J. Bradley; brothers, Bert Lambert, Jim Lambert, and Base Lambert; sister, Marcella Britt; and son-in-law, Lloyd Poe. The family suggests memorials to a charity of your choice. To send condolences online, please visit www.branonfuneralhome.com.
