Evelyn was born on December 11, 1920 in Hamilton, TX, to Herbert and Willie Morgan Wilcox. She married Marvin George Grissom in Sparenburg on December 3, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1982. She was a homemaker and a seamstress for Collin's department store. Evelyn loved to crochet, sew, and to do embroidering. She would make clothes for all of the grandchildren to wear and also made quilts. Evelyn had a green thumb and loved to plant trees and do work in her yard. She would feed the stray cat's breakfast and dinner every day on her front porch. Evelyn was a very loving grandmother. She was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Lamesa for 20 years.
