Our family proudly announces that on Friday May 20, 2011, our Heavenly Father opened his arms and called our BELOVED mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother home to spend eternity with Him and the love of her life, Wintford Lee Ham. We will celebrate the life and love of Freddie Mae Ham on Monday May 23, at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service at Lamesa Memorial Park with Brother Clifton Igo and Chaplain Larry Hood officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 22, 2011 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

"Freddie Mae" or "Fred" was born on November 29, 1916 in Robertson County, Texas to Other and Minnie McDaniel. She, along with her parents and numerous brothers and sisters traveled in a covered wagon in 1924. They traveled 15 miles per day for several months to get to West Texas. She began working at the age of 5 years old in tomato fields with her family. She obtained a 5th grade education; however, she was self-taught, becoming a highly intelligent woman working in retail, decorating, and was an accomplished seamstress. She was an incredible artist and everyone wanted to come to her house to eat! She wanted hugs not handshakes! In her later years she was happiest spending time with her family, as her door was always revolving with her loved ones coming to see her. She loved spending time at the casino in Hobbs "exercising" her mind, winning "the big one"! Everyone that met her fell in love with her and were automatically in the family.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Wintford Lee ham; her parents; brothers and sisters; and sweet granddaughter Dedra Edmonson. The family left loving and missing her include: her 3 children, Huby Owens, Ruby Edmonson, and Karen Wright. She had 3 step-children, Kaye Dorman, Jimmy Ham, and Greg Ham. The grandchildren she adored and hugged as often as she could include 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers include: Kelly Garrett, Kevin Marsh, Alvin Owens, Jon-Michael Sisson, Drew Gardner, Jared Bird, Albert Martinez, and Drew Wilson.Honorary Pallbearers will be: Terry Gardner, Steve Lockhart, Jerrad Gray, and Zach Ramos.
