*Obituary Betty York Harp
Betty York Harp, age 84 of MIdland, Texas, formerly of Lamesa, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. She was born on July 9, 1928, in Pampa, Texas to James Peyton York and Norma Blackburn York. She was raised in Lubbock,Texas and graduated from Lubbock High School. After attending Gulfpark, University of Texas and Texas Tech University, she married Malcolm Harp of Lamesa on November 2, 1951.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Malcolm Harp, her sisters, Dorothy Rushing and Janet Wright and a niece, Betsy Earthman.

She is survived by her son, Jim Harp of San Angelo, her daughter, Janie Hofer and husband Steve of Midland, her grandchildren; Stephanie Batla and husband Bradley of Midland and Steven Hofer Jr. and wife Michelle of Dallas and four nieces and nephews.

Betty's passion's in life were her grandchildren and traveling.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, in Lamesa Memorial Park with Chris Powell of First Baptist Church of Lamesa officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank her many caregivers at Manor Park and Hospice of Midland for their dedication and kindness.
