Christa Knowlton Gray, 62, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Carroll Kohl, officiating.

She was born on October 20, 1948, in East Germany. She married Gaylon Calvin Knowlton on November 11, 1966 and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1988. She then married Charles Gray on February 3, 1993, in Big Spring.

Christa came to Big Spring in 1972 from Germany. She worked for Gamco Industry for 25 years as the shipping manager and then for the 7-11 Corporation for ten years as a store manager, retiring on December 1, 2009. She enjoyed reading and computer games. She was a Lutheran.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Gray of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Gaylon and Tyna Knowlton of Big Spring; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ginger and Randy Eggleston of Midland, Cheryl and Raul Castillo of Big Spring and Andrea and Robert Cansino of Lubbock; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Edith and Rudy Lang and Waltrault "Susie" Simoneit all of Germany; two brothers, Werner Simoneit and Kurt Simoneit both of Germany; nine grandchildren, Porscha and Paige Knowlton, James and Jesse Eggleston, M. J. and Breann Castillo and Isabell, Alex Jr. and Ethan Cansino.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eva Simoneit and Inga Simoneit; and one brother, Beno Simoneit.

The family suggests memorials be made to Crossroads Hospice, 421 Main St., Big Spring, Texas 79720.
