Virginia Faye Gray, 80, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 8, 2005 at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Byron Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born on August 23, 1924, in Clarksville, Texas and married William Young Gray on July 3, 1943 in Westover, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1998.
Virginia grew up and attended school in Westover.
She had helped her husband, William, farm for many years.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she taught the Junior Girls Sunday School class for nineteen and a half years and was the financial secretary for fourteen years. She devoted much time and energy to her church through the years.
Survivors include six sisters, Aubrey Mae McClure, and Janelle Pedigo both of Big Spring, Lucille Dooley of Belton, Zula Chappell of Kosse, Barbara Enelow of Seminole, and Colleen Todd of Midland; two brothers, Ben Riggins of Muskogee, Oklahoma and James Riggins of Hobbs, New Mexico; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan Benjamin and Vergie Mae Riggins and one sister, Betty Whitt.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 1400 Lancaster, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
