Charles Green, 84, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Visitation will be 9 AM until 9 PM with family receiving friends from 6 PM until 8 PM at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday at 14th & Main Church of Christ with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.
Charles was born on October 19, 1938 in Smithville, TX to Izell and Will Johnson.
She spent most of her adult life in Big Spring and was a member of West Highway 80 Church of Christ.
Charles and all of her sisters were choir directors. She would make copies before copiers; she would write out everything for choir members. She was a coach for softball and a voting judge. She owned her own beauty shop and was co-owner of Johnnie Green's Bar-b-que. She was fun-loving and never met a stranger. She had an open-door policy. She made sure no matter what the funds were they always had a vacation.
She leaves behind those who will cherish her memory: 5 children: Debra Clark (Ron) of Murfreesboro, TN, Johnny Green of Big Spring, Delbert Green (Tony) of Big Spring, Carl Green (Sheriel) of Big Spring, & Tim Green (Cathy) of Big Spring; 1 special son: Gary Jones of Lubbock; 3 sisters: Willene: Knox of Big Spring, Jennie Johnson of Odessa, & Izell "Twinkle" White of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 brothers: Ulis Johnson & Roy (R.C.) Johnson both of Big Spring; 29 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by her husband: Johnnie Green; parents: Izell & Will Johnson; 3 brothers: Melvin, Robert Lee, & Frederick (Tee) Johnson.
