Edith Wallace Haney, 83, of Big Spring died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Midland Memorial Hospital In-Patient Hospice. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Rev. Donita Lea of Coahoma United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Visitation is Sunday, June 25, 2006, from 5:00 p.m. ? 6:30 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
Mrs. Haney was born on June 9, 1923, in Howard County to Dock and Nettie Hollis Wallace.
She married R. E. Haney on February 15, 1941, in Howard County and he preceded her in death on September 3, 1999.
She was a homemaker who lived her entire life within a half mile of where she was born.
Edith was a member of Coahoma United Methodist Church and the Happy Crafters Club.
She was a wonderful MeeMee to her whole family.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda Haney Smith and Roger of Raywood, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Suzanne Haney of Big Spring, Texas; her brother, Leland Wallace of Big Spring; two grandsons, Jim Finley of Seabrook, Texas, and Paul Haney of Irving, Texas; two granddaughters Shana Turow and husband, John of Lewisville, Texas, and Sarah Haney of Big Spring; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Payton Turow of Lewisville; and friend, Romi Rodriguez of Seabrook.
The family suggests memorials to Coahoma United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 50, Coahoma, TX, 79511, or to Hospice Midland In-Patient Unit, P. O. Box 2621, Midland, TX, 79702.
