*Obituary Marvin Hanson
Marvin "Mutt" Hanson, 89, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Jim Binnix, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born on April 27, 1914, in Big Spring, Texas and married Pauline Scott on April 12, 1942 in Midland, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2002.

A lifelong resident of Big Spring, Mr. Hanson had worked for Howard County for 33 years as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1979 from the Road Department.

He was a member of East 4th Street Baptist Church and had served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lavell and Gloria Hanson of Hobbs, New Mexico and Dwaine Hanson of Longview and three grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Todd Hanson.

The family suggests memorials to East 4th Street Baptist Church, 401 E. 4th, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to Midway Baptist Church, 6200 S. Service Road I20, Big Spring, Texas 79720.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pauline A. Hanson, 78, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2002, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 6, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dudley Mullins, pastor of East Fourth Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born on February 13, 1924 in Cameron County, Texas and married Marvin S. Hanson on April 12, 1942 in Midland, Texas.

Pauline had lived in Big Spring for the past seventy years and had delivered the Big Spring Herald for over thirty years to the residents north of Hilltop Road to Centerpoint School.

She loved sewing and spending time with her family.

She was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church and very involved with the Mary-Martha Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin S. Hanson of Big Spring; two sons, Lavell Hanson of Hobbs, New Mexico and Dwaine Hanson of Longview; two brothers, Vancil Scott of Midland and Kenneth Scott of Sand Springs; one sister, Sara Hodges of Midland and three grandchildren, Kyle Hanson of Hobbs, New Mexico, Lisa Listenbee of Tyler, and Eddie Hanson of Tyler.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Todd Hanson.

The family suggests memorials to East Fourth Street Baptist Church, 401 E. 4th Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to a favorite charity.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
