Clinton H. "Red" Harrison, 85, of Big Spring, died on Friday, January 13, 2006, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 16, 2006, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. R. T. Havener, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born on June 1, 1920, in Terrall, Oklahoma and married Ruth Elizabeth Carr on November 21, 1942 and she preceded him in death on December 16, 1990. He then married Joy Decker on August 20, 1992 in Big Spring.
Mr. Harrison had lived in Big Spring since 1934 and had worked for Fina Oil & Chemical for 42 years before retiring in March of 1982.
He was active in the Howard County Youth Horse Club and had raised paint and quarter horses for many years.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Harrison of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Michelle Harrison of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three step children, Eddie Decker and wife, Melissa, Tim Decker and Carol Kearney; six grandchildren, Suzanne Johnson, Shawn Harrison, Sherri Huggin, Lora Sargent, Cheryl Dikkaya and Teresa Rankin; five step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Alvie Harrison of Big Spring and Wayne Harrison of Orange; and three sisters, Faye Warren of Coahoma, Elsie Blanks of Gretna, Virginia, and Garnett Johnson of Comanche.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Harrison in April 2003; three brothers, including his twin, Clifton Harrison, J. W. Harrison and Lavorn Harrison and two sisters, Pauline Stout and Jean Fidler.
The family suggests memorials to the First Assembly of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 911, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0911.
