Katie McAdams Harwood, 68, of Big Spring, died on Monday, February 3, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at the Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Binnix, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born on December 3, 1934 in Clarksville, Texas to Ida and Norris Alford.

She married Weldon K. McAdams, Sr. on September 22, 1956. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1996. She married George W. Harwood, Sr. on November 7, 1998.

She was employed for 25 years at Midway Baptist Church, retiring in December 2000. She received the Reader's Choice Award for Best Secretary in Howard County in 1996.

She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George W. Harwood, Sr. of Big Spring; one daughter, Cindy Stovall of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Peggy McAdams of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Kelli McAdams of Odessa, Kourtney and Kaleb McAdams of Big Spring; three step-sons and daughters-in-law, George, Jr. and Diane Harwood, Jeff and Lisa Harwood and Chris and Joanne Harwood; step grandchildren, Samantha and Cassie Harwood, Shaun Stowers, Christian and Christopher Harwood.

Katie was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

The family suggests memorials to Midway Baptist Church Building Fund, Big Spring, Texas or Home Hospice of Big Spring, Big Spring, Texas.

Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Big Spring.
