Nancy Jo Herrin, 60, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2018 after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her family from the time of her diagnosis until she went to be with her Lord in Heaven.

She was born June 20, 1958 in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of Dale and Norma Lange.

She moved as a young girl to Lusk, Wyoming. As a young girl in high school Nancy was homecoming queen, prom queen, and a cheerleader.

She moved to Big Spring Texas in 1992 with her two children.

She met and married her soulmate and best friend Scot Herrin in 1995.

Nancy embraced the Texas lifestyle working hard in the oil industry and also with Scot on their family owned businesses, Herrin Cattle and Herrin Construction Companies.

Nan was known for her caring nature, infectious personality, and the cheerleader never left her. She was a loving, affectionate wife and mother. She was also an extraordinary grandmother and totally devoted to her grandchildren. The years watching her four kids play sports, and now her grandchildren, were some of her favorite times. Her love of the ranch and everything it meant and every memory it held were the dearest to her.

After being diagnosed with terminal cancer; Nancy's bucket list was just to enjoy every day on the Herrin Ranch. She lived her remaining days on this earth enjoying the ranch and all her family. Anyone who knew her knew her love for her husband, her family and her friends were great, selfless and unconditional.

She was confirmed in 1970, and was a devout member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church all her life. She may not have known what tomorrow held, but she always knew Who held tomorrow.

Nancy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Scot Herrin of Big Spring, TX; her daughter Haley (Randy) Gorski of Dallas, TX, son Josh (Sarah) Fernau, their children Amelia, Jonah and Desmond of Tulsa, OK; son Zach Herrin (Liz), Big Spring, TX; son Zane (Sarah) Herrin, Hebbronville, TX; brother Bob (Lisa) Lange, Sister Sandi (Fred) Anderson, Sister Jude (late Dave) Redfield; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of longtime friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Myers & Smith.

Viewing/visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6-7:30 PM. The funeral will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church of Big Spring with both Pastor Kohl and Pastor Lamb officiating July 7, 2018, at 3:00 PM.
