Lucretia "Lou" Hill, 87, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Ken McMeans, pastor of College Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born February 3, 1926, in Cosesco, Mississippi to Pearl and Marion Taylor.
She married Jerry B. Hill on July 31, 1954, in Pecos. They moved to Coahoma in 1971 and then to Big Spring in 1977. Jerry preceded her in death on April 3, 1991.
She was a member of RSVP for over 30 years, with all of her service at Scenic Mountain Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of College Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Cathy Ontiveros and her husband Fabian of Big Spring, and Pattie Rose and her husband Larry of Midland; one sister: Mable Woodson of Jackson, Mississippi; one granddaughter: Jennifer Bakley of Big Spring; four great grandchildren: Brittany Bakley, Tiffany Bakley, Taylor Bakley, and Autumn Bakley, all of Big Spring; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
