Doris Marie Blanton Huibregtse, 85, died Saturday October 28, 2017 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at The First United Methodist Church, Big Spring with Rev. Derrell Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday October 30, 2017 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Doris was born November 9, 1931 in Alto, Texas and married the late Harlan Howard Huibregtse, June 6, 1953 in Alto, Texas.

Doris was a long time teacher, professor and real estate agent.

She was a graduate of Texas A & I University in Kingsville, Texas, and longtime member of The First United Methodist Church of Big Spring.

Doris is survived by her son Kenneth Huibregtse of Big Spring.

The family suggests memorials be made to the The First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1229, Big Spring, Texas 79721.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Blanton and Opal Richards Blanton; her husband Harlan Huibregtse; son Robert Huibregtse; sister Erna Blanton Lowry; and a brother Harold Blanton.
