Lillian Jenkins, 73, of Big Spring, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her residence.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Lillian was born March 10, 1941 in Sand Springs, Howard County, Texas to Helen Ozell (McCarty) and Milton Thomas Johnson.
She married Edward E. Jenkins on December 23, 1955 in Big Spring, Texas.
She and her husband lived in South Carolina, Montana, Massachusetts, Okinawa and Midland, before settling back in Big Spring in 1985.
She was a "Military Wife."
She worked for American Greeting Cards for many years but her most important job was being a mother.
She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband Edward E. Jenkins of Big Spring; one daughter: Melinda Jenkins of Sand Springs; one son Thomas Jenkins of Big Spring; three grandchildren: Hayley Jenkins of Big Spring, Christopher Corrick of Midland and Kayla Roberts of Lake Jackson, Texas and two great grandchildren: Caiden Roberts and Skyler Roberts both of Lake Jackson, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Helen Dwan Gillette on April 30, 1995.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Turner, Bill Hallford, Pete Gillette and Christopher Corrick.
