Ruby "Cuca" Juarez, 71, of Big Spring, died Friday, June 27, 2014 in a local nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring.
A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday evening at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Pallbearers are Thomas Rios, Matthew Mier, Jordan Sosa, Pete Sosa, Joe Ethan Chavez, Scooter Anderson, Patrick Rios, and Robert Obando. Honorary Pallbearers are David Anderson, Arthur "Tweety" Juarez, Jr., Lupe Gutierrez, Cruz Gutierrez, and Rudy Ortega, Jr.
Ruby was born July 4, 1942 in Colorado City, TX and married Guadalupe Juarez in Big Spring in 1961.
Ruby loved softball and always cheered on her "Ruby Reds." The softball team she sponsored yearly included her sons and nephews.
She also loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, singing and being close to family.
She loved the Lord and often recited her favorite Bible Scriptures.
She is survived by four sons, Arthur Juarez, Mark Juarez and wife, Norma, Julio Sosa and wife, Robin, and Rudy Ortega, Jr.; two daughters, Melinda Rios and husband, Alfredo, and Angie Anderson and Iden Rios, all of Big Spring; fourteen grandchildren, Amy French, Arthur Juarez, Jr., Melissa Chavez, Beatrice Gonzales, Thomas Rios, Shae Rios, Katrina Rios, Patrick Rios, David Anderson, Scooter Anderson, Joyce Gutierrez, Cruz Gutierrez, Elizabeth Gutierrez and Lupe Gutierrez; forty-three great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Gutierrez, and Chino Gutierrez and wife, Lina, all of Big Spring, and John Gutierrez and wife, Thelma, of Odessa; two sisters, Ernestina Gonzalez of Westbrook, and Oralia Gutierrez of Big Spring; daughter-in-law Mary Gamboa and son-in-law, Ricky Anderson.
In addition to her parents Agapito Gutierrez and Guadalupe Rodriquez and her husband, Ruby was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Rincones and Antanacio Gutierrez; and two sisters, Elida Sosa and Maria Ventura.
