Gladys “June” Kirkland, 91, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Joey Bacon officiating.

Gladys was born April 28, 1924 in Columbia, Louisiana and married Chester Kirkland August 3, 1946 in Colorado City. He preceded her in death, August 30, 1987.

She was a LVN at Hall Bennett Hospital.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her yard and playing games with the “Gamesters” at church.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Gladys is survived by son, Gary Kirkland and wife, Suzanne of Big Spring and daughter, Sharon Deubler of Snyder; grandchildren, Alyssa Kirkland, Andy Kirkland, Anson Kirkland,Troy Deubler and Barry Deubler; and great grandchildren, Meagan Deubler, Lauren Deubler, Victoria Deubler and Sara Deubler.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her father, George Brently Junkin; and her mother Mae Hart Junkin; two brothers, G.B. Junkin and Willie Junkin; and two sisters, Fannie Arnold and Effie Garrett.
