*Obituary Verlin Knous
Verlin Knous, 75, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2002, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, November 8, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born on October 8, 1927 in Chireno, Texas and married Edith Christian on August 16, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Knous came to Big Spring in January of 1947. He was a diligent worker for Meals-on-Wheels and was working for West Texas Opportunity at the time of his death. He was a member of First Baptist Church. A Master Mason for 48 years, he was a life member of Big Spring Lodge #1340, A.F. & A.M., where he served as Master and received the Golden Trowel Award. He was a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite bodies, Eastern Star and the Suez Shrine Temple where he was Potentate in 1986. He was also a member of Big Spring Motor Patrol and Fire Brigade.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Knous of Big Spring; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Beverly Knous of Del Rio, David and Gail Knous of Odessa and Jerry and Debbie Knous of Midland; two sisters, Mary Lee Fitzgerald Lemmon of Malacoff and Freddie Butler of St. Augustine; 7 grandchildren, Melanie and Dwayne Harris of Monahans, Heather and Doug Morris of Lubbock, John and Cheryl Knous of Houston, Rodney and Melanie Knous of Dallas, Nickole and Roy Keenan of Lubbock, Jeremy Knous of Lansing, Michigan and D'Lynn Knous of San Angelo and 2 great grandchidren, Krysta Whitehead and Aubrie Harris of Monahans. Pallbearers will be Dave Smelser, James Campbell, O.L. Clark, Wayne Ulrich, Ron Yeager and Dave Martin. All Past Potentates are considered honorary pallbearers. The family suggests memorials to: Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, 610 Texas Ave., Galveston, Texas 77550. Edith Knous, 88, of Big Spring, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 in a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at theTrinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Funeral Home.

Edith was born March 17, 1928 in Lubbock, Texas and married Verlin Knous August 16, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death Novermber 6, 2002.

She worked for both Hemphill Wells and Dunlaps department stores in Big Spring.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star and the Social Order of the Beauceant.

Edith is survived by three sons, Richard Knous and wife Beverly of Big Spring, David Knous and wife, Gail of The Colony, Texas, and Jerry Knous and wife Debbie of Midland; seven grandchildren, Melanie Harris and husband, Dwayne, Heather Morris and husband, Doug, John Knous and wife, Cheryl, Rodney Knous and wife, Melanie, Nickole Keenan, Jeremy Knous and wife, Mickie, and D'Lynn Price and husband, Cooper; nine great grandchildren, and one sister, Dorthy Shanks, and husband, Wade.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Edward and Edna (Montgomery) Christian; and one brother, Allen Christian.
