Betty Joye Lawdermilk Lepard, born on ¬June 29, 1929 in Big Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully at age 92 on January 10, 2022 in Colleyville, Texas.

Betty joins her husband Waymond's side in eternity as she was throughout their 73 years of marriage.

Her grace and love were always reflected in her warm smile and the depth of her brown eyes. While she was an exceptional Christian, wife, mother, cook and housekeeper, she held a deep commitment to education for herself and others and went on to get a college degree and become a teacher after raising her three boys.

Betty married Waymon Wheeler Lepard in 1945 and established their home and family in Coahoma, Texas. She was proud of her sons, Lawrence, Ron and Dickie, for their academic and athletic achievements earned while playing football, basketball and track for Coahoma High School and each graduating from Texas Tech University.

Betty graduated from Howard Junior College in 1971, San Angelo State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English and then received her Masters in Education from Sul Ross University. Betty taught elementary and middle school English at Goliad in Big Spring until her retirement in 1993.

Betty and Waymon were active members of Midway, West Side and Temple Baptist churches in Big Spring, Texas.

Welcoming Betty in heaven are her husband Waymon Wheeler; parents Chandos Richard "C.R." and Hattie Sylvia Lawdermilk; sister Margaret Elizabeth Lawdermilk, brother Chandos Richard Lawdermilk Jr., sister Sue Nell Lawdermilk Smith; brother Dr. Bobby Ned Lawdermilk; and beloved sons Lawrence Robert Lepard and William Richard "Dickie" and his wife Karla Denise Lepard.

Mourning our loss but celebrating her victory are her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" and Sheri Lee Lepard of Big Spring, TX and their daughters: Susan Wanner of Big Spring, TX and her children Elysia and Evan Wanner; Shannon Koston of Austin, TX and her daughter Asia Lepard; and Kimberly Glickman of McKinney, TX and her children Rex, Cameron and Natalie Glickman.

Dickie and Karla Lepard's children: Bryan Lepard of North Richland Hills, TX and his son William Lepard; and Amy Campbell of Colleyville, TX and her sons Grayson, Dax, Cannon and Dodge Campbell.

Lawrence Lepard's children: Shawn Lepard of Oklahoma City, OK and his daughters Kristyn, Madeline and Charlotte Lepard; and Chris Lepard of Austin, TX and his son Thomas Lepard; and Deion Lepard of Phoenix, AZ.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.
