Jose V. Lopez, 87, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, June 06, 2012 at his residence. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Msgr. James Plagens, Deacon Victor Lopez and Deacon Johnny Arguello, officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born December 4, 1924 in Knox, Texas to Maria and Phillip Lopez. He married Jesusita Lopez on May 4, 1946. He worked civil service for 30 years and at Moss Elementary for 10 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Society, Cursillitias, and a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He enjoyed his church, music, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Jesusita Lopez of Big Spring; children: Joe Lopez, Jr. and wife Bertha of Houston, Deacon Victor Lopez and wife Mary of Midland, Adolfo Lopez and Maria Louisa Hilario and husband Victor, all of Big Spring, Juan Lopez and wife Sofia and Pedro Lopez and wife Naomi, all of Midland, Socorro Mata and husband Robert of Big Spring, Teresa Ramirez of Ft. Worth, Cynthia Lopez of Dallas and Jennifer Lopez of Big Spring; 30 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Pallbearers will be Joseph Lopez, Andy Lopez, Gabriel Lopez, Mike Hilario, Pete Lopez, Jr., and Daniel Mata. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Jesusita “Chuy” Lopez, 85, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at her residence. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born December 24, 1927 in Pecos, Texas to Filomena (Gomez) and Macedonio Segovia. She married Jose Lopez on May 4, 1946 in Pecos, Texas. She has been a resident of Big Spring for over 59 years. She sold Avon for many years and was known as “Bingo Queen”. She was a caring person and was people oriented. Her children lovingly called her “Chuy” instead of Mom. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a Cursillitista. She is survived by her children: Joe Lopez, Jr. and wife Bertha of Houston, Deacon Victor Lopez and wife Mary of Midland, Adolfo Lopez and Maria Louisa Hilario and husband Victor, all of Big Spring, Juan Lopez and wife Sofia and Pedro Lopez and wife Naomi, all of Midland, Socorro Mata and husband Robert of Big Spring, Teresa Ramirez of Ft. Worth, Cynthia Lopez of Dallas and Jennifer Lopez of Big Spring; 30 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters: Avelina Montoya and Julia Briones and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jose V. Lopez on June 6, 2012, several brothers and one sister. Pallbearers will be Robert Mata, Jr., Andy Lopez, Michael Hilario, Joseph Lopez, Pete Lopez and Gabriel Lopez. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
