Betty Jean McChristian Honea passed from this life on Monday, March 27, 2023, in Woodville, Texas.

She was born in Big Spring, Texas, on January 10, 1929, to Ray and "Billie" Myers.

She married Bennie McChristian on January 7, 1947.

After his retirement from Fina, she and Bennie operated Bennie's Pecans & Garden.

After Bennie's death in June 2004, she then married Jimmy Honea in June 2009.

She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and a longtime member of 14th & Main Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Honea, of Big Spring, as well as his family, one son, Wayne [Cathy] McChristian, of Arlington, and two daughters, Carolyn Johnson, of Tyler and Sandy [Jay] Allen of Woodville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Regan [Alexis]Johnson, Boyd [Rachele] Allen, Abbi [Dallas] Hatton, Daniela Banci; great grandchildren, Adaline and Noah Johnson, Jake, John, and Jack Hatton, Brogan Allen, Ava Vicknair, and Layla Stevenson. Additional survivors include her brother-in-law, John [Joyce] Mc Christian, of Athens, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Betty's husband, Bennie, a brother, son-in-law, sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and her parents predeceased her.

Betty is remembered by friends and family as a lively, energetic, and generous woman with a servant's heart.

Arrangements are under the direction of Myers and Smith Funeral Home, Big Spring, TX.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 9-11 a.m. with an 11:30 a.m. graveside service to follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
