Emma Jane McMurtrey, 93, of Big Spring died Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel.

Emma was born on March 24, 1928 in Hale Center.

She married Clifton McMurtrey in Hale Center in 1948. He passed away on February 9, 2000.

She moved to Big Spring in 1950 from Abilene.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist.

She is survived by five children and their spouses: Larry and Karen McMurtrey of San Angelo, Tommy and Brenda McMurtrey of Big Spring, Carolyn and Larry Peaslee of Troy, Johnny and Janet McMurtrey of Lawton, OK and Kenneth and Kara McMurtrey of Raton, NM; 13 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and one brother: Jerry McMennamy and his wife Peggy of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews; and loving caregiver: Amelia Collins.

In addition to her parents Mary and Carl McMennamy, she was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Carlene Woefel; and one brother: Joe McMennamy.
