Novie Mills, 76, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, April 22, 2001, in a Big Spring hospital. Funeral services will be at 4:30 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Janca, pastor of Forsan Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.


Novie was born on September 4, 1924 in Abernathy, Texas. She married James W. Mills on June 22, 1940 in Houston, Texas and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2000. She and her late husband moved to Big Spring in 1975 from Clovis, New Mexico. Mrs Mills was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother She was a Baptist.

Survivors include: six sons, James, Johnny, Richard, Kerry, and Mark Mills, all of Big Spring, and Billy Mills of Sundown, Texas, two daughters, Judy Roberts of Big Spring and Laurie Hesson of Forsan, 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, one brother, Edgar Blackwell of Stanford, and three sisters, Norma Gean Wilson, of Abilene, Noma of Oklahoma and Darlene Baker of Oklahoma.

Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
