Juan Salas Guajardo, 83, of Seminole, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. James Catholic Church in Seminole. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Seminole with the Rev. Paul Karieakatt officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

He was born in Refugio. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Seminole.

SURVIVORS Sons, Mario Guajardo and Juan Raul Guajardo, both of Lubbock; daughters, Janie Alarcon and Virginia Flores, both of Seminole, and Rosa Maria Flores of Denver City; brothers, Magdaleno Guajardo of O'Donnell, Pasqual Guajardo of Pleasanton and Eugene Guajardo of Galveston; sisters, Gertrudes Ramirez and Dominga Hernandez, both of Lamesa, Angelita Valdez of Washington and Victoriana Quintero of Midland; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass for Maximiana Guajardo, age 85 of Seminole, Texas, will be celebrated Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 from 6 to 7 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Guajardo was born in Hargill, Texas to Guadalupe (Cortes) and Lauro Davila on January 20, 1938. She married Juan Guajardo in Lamesa, Texas on February 23, 1953. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a homemaker. Maximiana enjoyed shopping, parties, dancing, eating green enchiladas, going to church and being around her family. She was especially known as Queen of ice-cream, and her favorite color was purple. She also loved gardening and taking care of her flowers; she enjoyed taking pictures of her flowers after they bloomed.

Maximiana Guajardo passed away at her home in Seminole, Texas on Friday, December 15, 2023. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Juan in 2014; four brothers, two sisters, and one grandson. She is survived by two sons, Mario Guajardo and wife Ninfa of Seminole, Texas, and Juan Raul Guajardo and wife Isabel of Lubbock, Texas; three daughters, Janie Alarcon and husband Frank, Virginia Flores and husband Jessie, and Rosa Flores, all of Seminole; one brother, Amador Davila of Lubbock, Texas; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
