Illa Morgan, 94, of Big Spring died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Rev. Joey Bacon, officiating.
She was born December 21, 1916 in Pampa, Texas to Dillie and Benjamin Dixon. She grew up in Big Spring. She traveled throughout Texas training management staff for many hotel chains. She returned to Big Spring 20 years ago. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son Franklin Earley, Jr., of Big Spring; one granddaughter Brighton Earley of Berkley, California, one sister Jean Jennings and her husband Jimmie of Humble; former daughter-in-law Barbara Mauldin of Deer Park and nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Floyd Alton Dixon and Oran Young Dixon; three sisters: Anna Locklar, Vera Mae Messenger and Sudie Bell Beeman; one niece and one nephew.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
