*Obituary LaVerne Gross Morris Patrick
LaVerne Gross Morris Patrick, 83, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in a local hospital.

She was born April 4, 1931 in Big Spring, Texas and married Claude Morris December 16, 1949 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death August 16, 1983. She then married Russell Patrick, Sr. in January of 1997. He preceded her in death June 2, 2014.

LaVerne was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and graduated from Stanton High School in 1949. She worked in the office at Cowper Clinic for a number of years and had worked in medical records at the Big Spring State Hospital, retiring after many years of service. LaVerne was very creative and enjoyed sewing and woodworking.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Myers and husband, Bruce of Kerrville; two grandchildren, Jeremy Myers and Melissa Myers both of El Dorado, Kansas; one brother, Don Gross and wife, Bev of Riverside, California; and several nieces and nephews including Caroll and John Gustin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, J. T. and Vera Gross; two brothers, Gaston Gross and A. J. Gross; and four sisters, Oleta Johnson, Doris Maneval, Bettie Pettus and Billie Walker.
