*Obituary Mildred E. Murray Murphy
Mildred Murphy, 96, of Big Spring, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Herb McPherson and Dr. Randy Cotton, officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born June 1, 1915 in Vincent, Texas to Oma and R. B. Murray.

She married J. O. Murphy, Sr., in Big Spring, Texas.

She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter: Marian Walker and husband Ralph of Big Spring; three sons: J. O. Murphy, Jr., of Big Spring, Jerry Murphy and wife Tavie of Seguin and Dick Murphy and wife Barbara of Big Spring; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Murphy, Lance Murphy, John Kennedy, Jason Murphy, Daniel Clark, David Erwin and Larry Doyle. Honorary pallbearer is Jeremy Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Compass Hospice, Big Spring, TX.

Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
