Mary Myrtle Anderson Ruthart, age 97, passed away February 17, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas.

Mary was born January 25, 1927, in Arlington, Colorado to Clair Anderson and Myrtle (Lynch)
Anderson.

After graduating from Arlington High School in Arlington, Colorado, Mary attended Pueblo Junior College and York College. She graduated from York College in York, Nebraska in 1948 with a Bachelor of Education Degree. On December 29, 1949, Mary married the love of her life, Sanford (Sam) Ruthart. They moved their family to Seminole, Texas in 1954. Mary taught primary school for a total of thirty-seven years in both Brighton, Colorado and Seminole Primary School. In 1984 Seminole ISD honored Mary with the award Educator of the Year. She retired from Seminole ISD in 1989.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Clair and Myrtle Anderson, her siblings Dallas Anderson, William Anderson, Carrie Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Elizabeth Rush, her husband Sanford Ruthart, her son James (Jim) Ruthart, and her daughter Margaret (Peggy) Lamb.

Mary is survived by her Grandchild Tonya Canchola and husband Anthony, three Great Grandchildren Kylie Aguilar, Jace Aguilar, and Ella Montgomery, and two Great Great Grandchildren Braxton Cope and Shylan Cope.
