Funeral services for Elvoy Thomason, age 91 of Lubbock, Texas and formerly of Seminole, will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Westside Church of Christ with David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. Family will host a public visitation Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Boyer Funeral Home. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Mexico Christian Children's Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, New Mexico 88130-9983
Mr. Thomason was born February 13, 1932 to Vera Mae (Knowles) and Hershall L. Thomason in Hollis, Oklahoma. He married Peggy Lord in Lovington, New Mexico on February 5, 1958. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ and had worked for Gaines County Memorial Cemetery and farmed in Gaines County for over fifty years. He was a hard working, loving, kind and generous man. He was a faithful husband, dad, and Papa.
Elvoy Thomason passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Thomason in 2016; and one sister, Joy Mimms. He is survived by one son, Dwight Thomason and wife Pam of Stanton, Texas; one daughter, Brenda Jones and husband Roger of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Anna Thomason of Lubbock, Texas, and Juanima Fikes of Conyers, Georgia; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Peggy Thomason, age 80 of Seminole, Texas will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at West Side Church of Christ, with Brother Ray Young officiating and Brother Leo Copeland assisting. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. The family will greet friends on Monday evening, April 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Thomason was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on July 14, 1935 to Inez (Salmon) and Edgar Lord. She married Elvoy Thomason on February 5, 1958 in Lovington, New Mexico, and she had worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 13 years.
Peggy was a member of the Church of Christ, and she loved reading and antiques. She enjoyed traveling to the Texas Hill Country to see the bluebonnets. Most of all, she adored her family and friends.
Peggy Thomason passed away April 1, 2016 at Shinnery Oaks Nursing Center in Denver City, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, E.B. Lord II; and one sister, Katherine Lord Oliver. She is survived by her husband, Elvoy Thomason of Seminole, Texas; one son, Dwight Thomason and wife Pam of Midland, Texas; one daughter, Brenda Jones and husband Roger of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
