Georgia Joyce Newsom, 76, of Tyler, formerly of Garden City, passed away, Friday, January 15, 2021 at her daughter and son-in-law's home.

Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park.

Georgia was born April 4, 1944 in Mangum, OK to Reva Wallace and Lewis Heflin.

She married Dean Newsom on March 13, 1965.

She loved her family, fishing and crafts.

She had been a lifelong resident of Garden City before moving to Chandler in 2000.

She was a Baptist.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tonya and Scott Wilson of Tyler, daughter Ronda Newsom of Lindale; her sister, Judy Watts, of Eunice, NM; sister-in-law, Margaret Newsom of Garden City; two grandsons, Michael Stanton of Big Spring and Christopher Stanton of Trinity, NC; two granddaughters, Kasie Stanton of New Orleans, LA and April Talamantez of Big Spring; four great-granddaughters: Sosie, Alyssa, Kailynn and Ava and three great grandsons: Soulan, Asa and Braxton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Newsom and her parents Reva Wallace and Lewis Heflin.

Pallbearers will be Mike Stanton, Chris Stanton, Asa Talamantez, Ron Collins, Scott Wilson and Paul Talamantez.
